Author Features

For Authors: Are you interested in being featured on the blog? Keep reading!

For Readers: Is there an author you’d like to see featured on the blog? Send me a message and let me know. I’ll see what I can do.

Features are open to any author of clean books, both Christian and the wider market.

Please read all the guidelines before requesting a feature.

The blog is currently open to author interviews and guest articles.

Author interviews are open to authors of Fantasy of any form (epic, urban, cozy, romantasy, etc.), Fairy tale retellings, Sci-fi, and Dystopian. Young Adult, New Adult, and Adult audiences. Any other genres will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Guest articles are open to authors of any genre.

Author Interviews

If selected for an author interview, I will email you a list of questions. You will need to email your answers back to me. I will prep the post and upload it to the blog.

Interviews are open to both published and pre-published authors. Both independent and traditionally published authors are welcome.

Guest Articles

Guest articles can be any book-related article you choose to write, though there are certain types of articles I prefer to feature.

I'm always open to devotional pieces, but they must be book-related in some respect. This can take many forms. So long as there is a bookish flavor to the devotional in some way, it will be considered.

If writing a devotional, it is always a great idea to write one that connects to your book in some form, such as biblically exploring the book's theme. However, this is not required.

Other types of articles I'm especially interested in are ones about your book specifically. You can write about your worldbuilding, magic system, how you came up with the idea for the story, what it means to you, etc. The purpose of author features is to shine a light on authors and their work. Let's show readers why they should pick up your book!

Writing focused articles, such as "How to Overcome Writer's Block," are also welcome, but the primary audience of the blog is readers, not writers. This being the case, writing focused articles will be considered, but are not the priority at this time.

All features, both interviews and guest articles, will include a short “About the Author” section highlighting the featured author. This section will also include links to the featured author’s website, social media, and a link to their book (if applicable).

All features will be mentioned on Instagram and in my Newsletter. Excerpts of blog posts, both guest articles and interviews, may be used in Instagram posts; the main purpose being to drive readers to the blog and give the author a little more exposure.

Article Guidelines

All articles must adhere to the following guidelines:

  • While not all articles must be Christ-focused, and the blog is open to featuring non-Christian authors and books, all articles must be respectful of Christianity. Any article disrespecting God, the Bible, or Christianity will be immediately rejected.

  • Articles must be well edited. Numerous typos and/or other writing errors may lead to rejection.

  • No foul language is allowed. If your article includes foul language of any kind, you will either be asked to rewrite it without said language or it will be rejected.

  •  Absolutely no blasphemy or misuse of God's name. This is a zero-tolerance policy, and failure to comply will result in immediate rejection.

  • There are currently no formatting specifications required. Any accepted article will be edited to match the formatting of the blog.

What is "Clean"?

For this website, clean is defined as follows:

  • Little to no foul language. In-world, made-up curses are fine. No swearing is preferred, but an author whose book has a few “minor” swear words may be considered, and there will be a content warning if mentioned on the blog.

  • No graphic violence or gore. Battle scenes and mentions of blood, death, etc. are fine so long as they are not overly descriptive.

  • No spice/smut.

  • All romance must be between a biological man and a biological woman.

  • No occult magic unless it is portrayed as evil. Wizards, fae, unicorns, “magical” abilities, and the like are fine. Pentagrams, blood rituals, calling on darkness, etc., are not unless it is portrayed as evil, is not descriptive, and does not involve real spells.

All books by a featured author must adhere to this definition of “clean.” If you are unsure if your book’s content fits this definition, feel free to reach out, and we can discuss it.

Again, features are for clean authors. This means that the author writes clean fiction only. For example, if one of an author’s books is clean but others involve brutally graphic battle scenes, this is not the blog for that author. If it is discovered that an author writes gory, spicy, or otherwise objectionable books under a different name, the author will not be featured.

Why so strict? Because, while this blog is open to non-Christian books and authors, the website and its primary audience are Christian. I don’t want to lead readers to books that may harm their walk with God, and I do not want to lift up content that violates the teachings of Christ.

Smutty and gory books are easy to find in this world. This blog is for readers who want something different. It’s for those who want to read a book without blushing or filling their minds with questionable content.

What we read affects who we are, just like with any media we consume. It shapes our thoughts and outlooks.

There is enough darkness in the world. Let’s be a light!

I reserve the right to accept or reject any request for a feature with or without giving a reason.

If you are interested in being featured on the blog, please fill out this form. I will be in contact with you as soon as possible.
